Pennies 4 Power is a registered 501(C)3 organization that aims to assist disadvantaged communities by providing low-income homeowners access to solar energy systems.
The solar panels and labor are provided at no cost to homeowners through the support of our generous donors.
Our Story
Where Did This All Begin?
Pennies 4 Power was founded in 2019 by Madeline & Ian Hurt, two young, ambitious high school students from Ft. Lauderdale, FL. In 2018, they traveled to Appalchia Kentucky for a service project, to repair homes for low-income families in one of the most impoverished areas in America. This region suffers from a lack of professional medical care, job opportunities, and education.
After seeing the positive impact their service had on the lives of these families, Madeline & Ian began seeking other ways they could ease the burden of impoverished communities. The two were inspired to found Pennies 4 Power, a non-profit that provides the gift of renewable energy via solar power to the less-fortunate in their own community of South Florida.

We Exist to Give Power to the People
Its our mission to ease the burden on low-income families by reducing their energy costs through the use of solar panels. We aspire to help them save money while supplying them with an investment that will last a lifetime. We can make this mission a reality for these families through the support of generous donors like you.
